Sweet baby Isaac was born this morning and I felt priviledged to be a part of his birth. Since he was delivered by c-section, I wasn’t about to be in the delivery room but I did capture many of his “firsts”.

Getting ready for surgery:

Kaylee wasn’t too sure of Daddy in scrubs. In fact, the doctors and nurses appeared a little scary with the surgical masks and footies.

It was a special day for Kaylee – she became a big sister! She couldn’t wait to call everyone and tell them the news.

Hearing baby Isaac cry for the first time – such a sweet sound.

Love at first sight.

His first bath

Waiting to hold baby Isaac – with a horse on her head.

Still waiting to hold baby brother which isn’t so easy when you’re three but Kaylee did a super job!

Finally!

I have had a surprising interest in birth photography since sharing John Parker’s birth pictures and slide show. I am only available on a very limited basis so contact me by email natasha@natashachalker.com or phone 334.303.8006 for more information. As a photographer, I strive to tell a story with pictures. Lifestyle/photojournalistic portraiture is my favorite style of photography so naturally, I have found myself drawn to birth photography. In the delivery room, I am able to be as discreet as possible, no flash is used to blind the doctor, nurses, baby. I blend into the back ground, quietly snapping pictures of the many moments you may not remember once you bring your bundle home from the hospital. I am well equipped to handle all lighting situations, which are not always the best in hospitals. My cameras (yes, camera(s) – I owna back up) are able to take extraordinary photographs in low light. I am also knowledgeable in how to use lenses to achieve the best result.

Several photos below were taken at night, without the use of a flash.

The slide shows have been removed but I will provide a link if you are interested in viewing them. Here are a few photos from various birth sessions:
