at least for a little while longer, right? I’m attempting to squeeze every bit of summer that is left with these last few days filled with warm breezes, lots of sunshine, and gorgeous blue skies. Oh, I love summer and I do not look forward to the bleak days of fall and winter that will be here soon enough.

SO, since I feel like it’s still summer around here, I’ll share a few bits from our summer. It was absolutely wonderful.

In the mountains, North Carolina

This sweet boy had an eventful summer ::: he swiftly swam away from a 5ft shark in the gulf, unsuccessfully ran from a swarm of wasps – and received his first sting, braved the jellyfish in Cozumel only to add another critter sting to his list. He’s so brave!

Our family went on a cruise to Key West, Cozumel and the Bahamas followed by a week in Orlando at Walt Disney World… just thinking of it exhausts me, again, but it was worth it. We had a GREAT time!

When Denise contacted me about pictures with 13 members of her beautiful family, I was up for the challenge. Trying to get 13 people to look at me for at least one shot, when 4 of them are small kids, can be challenging but I was so glad she chose me! I received a blessing when I got a chance to see the love in this family. Wow!

We weren’t sure we’d be able to get all four together – but we did!

The best description I can think of this is JOY. I just love this …

Maddie insisted on me being in a picture, too – so me + the girls. I felt so special, almost like I was in the family, too.

Wow, it’s that time again, already? Due to many requests, I have added some dates for Fall Mini Sessions. They will book up quickly so contact me as soon as possible to reserve your session!

Here’s the 411 -

When: Oct 16 & 17 (rain dates Oct 23 &24). Please be sure you are available for both dates in case of inclement weather.

Where: A field in Chancellor

What: Mini sessions are a short and sweet version of a one of my regular sessions, lasting only 30 minutes for up to 5 people. You will have 10 proofs to choose from in a custom on-line gallery. This fall I will be featuring my blue antique sofa which photographs beautifully, as well as some vintage chairs and other fun props for the kids.

How much: No session fee! No joke! Choose a collection, pay half now and half at the time of the session, non-refundable

I met up with Brandi and Trent recently to capture their quaint and intimate family wedding. We went to downtown Enterprise and scoped out lots of fun spots…before rushing back to the chapel!

I cannot stress how priceless photographs of your children are. So many people say they rarely take pictures of their kids. What?? You can’t remember every event, milestone, and age. Don’t put off picking up your camera or booking a session (with anyone, doesn’t have to be me but of course I’d love to meet those you love and cherish). Your children will thank you later – and so will your grandchildren.

to Conner and Keith’s daddy for his service to our country. He is currently deployed and I was proud to be able to do a complimentary session and album for this great family through Operation Love Reunited. It’s not every day that I’m greeted with huge hugs from such strong boys.

there’s a new little princess in town

and she’s gorgeous!

Mom is doing a shabby chic nursery so I did some soft, prissy processing on these that I think will go beautifully in her room.

In between cat naps, she did this entire animation show – lots of sweet and funny faces. I was tempted to her home with me!

My summer has been busy – not much time for pictures because we (my family and I) have been on the go so much. I’ll be sharing some of that later…

summer has arrived…

…and it’s my absolute favorite season of the year. I love waking up and forgetting what day it is because most days the kids and I have nothing we “have” to do. We are certainly enjoying some well deserved down time. We were at the beach last week and all the cousins got together for a quick photo shoot – or an attempt at one at least. The “babies” are 17 and 18 months old and to say they are quick is a huge understatement! We had to be equally as fast with treats and bribes but in the end it was all worth it since they earned ring pops – every one of them! Candy makes all kids happy, right?

I told my mother in law I wanted to get a shot of the babies naked in the sand. Of course they sat for about 1.4 seconds as you can see here -

I like this in a vintage wash, too. So sweet!

And summer isn’t summer without fresh cherries. I put some in one of my grandmother’s old mixing bowls, again in a vintage wash just because.

I noticed these ants a few weeks ago with an enormous treasure – a corner of a dorito. As they carried it away down my driveway, I ran inside to get my camera and nearly missed them. Apparently, they are quick, like toddlers!
